Oiwa Shrine, located in Kita-Ibaraki City, Ibaraki Prefecture, has been attracting more and more attention in recent years as one of the Japan's leading power spots. It has a long history, and the discovery of ritual ruins from the Jomon period shows that it has been revered as a sacred place by people for at least thousands of years. The precincts are dotted with numerous shrines and boulders, including the Lou Gate, which is a nationally designated important cultural property, and envelop visitors in a mysterious atmosphere.

To the Holy Land Where the Pillar of Light Stands

The biggest attraction of Miiwa Shrine is Mt. Oiwa, a spiritual peak that rises in the background. The entire mountain at an altitude of 513 m is considered to be a deity and has been an object of worship since ancient times. From the top of the mountain, there is a spectacular view overlooking the Pacific Ocean, and if the weather is favorable, you can also see Mt. Fuji.

The destination of this trip was the summit of Mt. Oiwa. While visiting a number of power spots, you can feel the energy of this spiritual mountain with your whole body, aiming to blossom your own potential.

Chapter 1 - From Kabire Shrine to the summit of Mt. Miiwa - The Sacred Path

Visitors to this place are uniformly amazed by its overwhelming energy. After praying at the main shrine of Miiwa Shrine, we finally started climbing Mt. Oiwa. If you go to the right of Kabire Jingu Shrine, it merges with the back approach road and takes on the appearance of a mountain trail. The road gradually becomes steeper and worse, so you need to proceed carefully.

However, with each step, you can feel the air becoming clearer. The surrounding trees are thick, towering and overgrown to block the sun's rays. It's like walking through a green tunnel.

It takes about 20 minutes from Kabire Shrine to reach the summit. The field of vision opens up at once, and a magnificent view spreads out in front of you that leaves you speechless. The blue waters of the Pacific Ocean, the mountains in the distance, and the endless sky. Its magnificent scenery will make you forget the hustle and bustle of everyday life and free your mind.

Huge boulders are scattered near the summit. These megaliths are said to have existed for 500 million years, and are gemstones created by nature over a long period of time. Its presence is overwhelming, and you can feel a mysterious energy when you touch it.

On the right side of the summit, in a slightly hidden place, stands a stone pillar. This is the inner temple of the Oiwa Shrine, and it is the place where the deity of the Kabire Shrine, "Tachihaya Hio no Mikoto", is said to have descended. The stone pillar is also called a glowing stone, and it is said that you can feel a strong energy when you touch it. (However, there is a warning not to touch it because it is a divine body.) It is important to observe good manners when visiting the temple. )

The same kind of energy as the one I felt at the Kabire Shrine, but stronger and more divine, can be felt from this stone pillar. There is a pure and comfortable space that is different from the foothills, as if you were in the heavenly world.

It is said that visiting this summit awakens one's potential. It is also said that a sixth sense is developed, which increases intuition and sensitivity. There is no doubt that you will be freed from daily stress and worries and will be able to refresh your mind and body.

Chapter 2 - The Red Stone and the Satsuto Shrine - The Space of Vitality and Purity

To the right of the summit is a red stone. This red stone is also said to be a glowing stone and is said to have the effect of boosting life energy. (Be careful not to touch this either.) Since it is in the shadow of a rock, you need to be careful not to slip or fall. )

Perhaps because the entire mountain is a divine body, you don't feel tired even if you climb to the top of the mountain. Rather, it seems that the body feels lighter, and the mind and body are satisfied.

After worshiping at the top of the mountain, go down the mountain from the back approach. On the way, there is a Sato Shrine on the left.

Satsuto Shrine has a middle shrine and a main shrine, and this time we will visit the middle shrine. A very pleasant breeze blows through the precincts, and it is a wonderful shrine where you can feel that it is a sacred sanctuary.

It's so refreshing that it makes you want to stop for a moment and take a deep breath. The chirping of birds and the rustling of leaves on the trees are soothing and soothing.

The deity of the shrine of the middle shrine of the Satsuto Shrine is the life of the Rishaya Hio. It enshrines the same god as Kabire Jingu.

If you pass this Satsuto Shrine, you will find the entrance to the mountain trail. Return to the starting point. We walked slowly while taking pictures, so it took about 1 hour and 30 minutes.

When I climbed Mt. Oiwa, I felt refreshed as if the wind had blown through my body. My body was lighter on the way back than on the way up, and I felt refreshed as if my mind had become clearer than before the climb, my vision was clearer, and my senses were sharpened.

The mood is joyful, and the gait is light.

Mt. Oiwa, where the entire mountain is a sacred body, is a spiritual mountain that becomes more energetic the more you climb.
