Rustic Shrine, the guardian god of Arakawa, who exorcises disasters and invites good fortune

The origin of the Rustic Shrine with an eternal history
The founding of the shrine dates back to the 14th year of the Heian period (795). The person who opened this place was a man named Kokuchin, a senior disciple of Ennozunu, who is known as the founder of Shugendo. Kurojin established a hermitage near the present Sojo Shrine and practiced hard.

One day, Kurojin notices a strange rock on a small mound located on the east side of the hermitage. Feeling the spiritual power of the strange rock, Kurojin decided to make it a sacred place and began to worship day and night. Then, one night in the 14th year of the Imperial Calendar, the strange rocks in the mound emitted light, and two gods appeared in the form of old men.

The gods told Kurojin, "I am the great god of Sobe, and the great god of Asuka, and if you worship him, you will exorcise the plague, increase your fortune, and prosper your land for a long time." After receiving this oracle, Kurojin immediately built a shrine and respectfully enshrined the two gods. This is said to be the origin of the founding of the Sokoku Shrine.

A few years later, he visited his brother's house again to express his gratitude to Su Min. He taught them, "If there is an epidemic, wear a ring made of thatch around your waist, and you will be able to escape the plague."

Later, a plague broke out in the village, but only Su Min's family was safe, thanks to the fact that they wore a thatch ring around their waist. Since then, it is said that when a plague spreads, people chant "Sominshorai Shisonari" and wear a ring of thatch around their waists to escape the plague.
